Reading Established goals: RI.K.6 - Name the author and illustrator of a text and define the role of each in presenting the ideas or information in a text.
Understandings  
Students will understand that:

  • Students will understand different parts of a book.
  • Students will understand what is in a book.
Essential Questions:

  • What are the roles for an illustrator and an author?
  • Who is the author and illustrator of the story? Where are they located on the story?
Students will know:     

  • How to identify key components that makes up a book.
                                            
Students will be able to:
  • Create a book which includes a title, cover, picture, and text.  
  • Identify the roles of an author and illustrator.
