Established Goals:

Writing Established goals: W.K.2 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic.
Understandings  
Students will understand that:

  • Students will determine what details can support a topic.
  • Students will be able to draw a picture to match their sentence. 
Essential Questions:

  • What are informative and explanatory text?
  • How does a writer present information about a topic?

Students will know:     

  • How to write to inform or explain about a topic using descriptive facts.
Students will be able to:
  • Create a how to book which includes picture, and explanatory text, and presented to their peers.
